Anne-Marie Desmeules was born in Montreal in 1981. She spent her childhood and adolescence between Lévis and Notre-Dame-du-Lac, in Témiscouata. She moved to Lévis in 2007, after a long series of moves. Holder of a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from Université Laval, she is undertaking a PhD in Literary Studies in 2020. She is the author of three books of poetry: Nature morte au couteau (Le Quartanier Editions, 2021), Le tendon et l’os (l’Hexagone Editions, 2019, Governor General’s Literary Award and Prix des libraires du Québec) and Cette personne très laide qui s’endort dans mes bras (l’Hexagone Editions, 2017). She has also participated in the creation of several literary shows presented in Quebec City, Montreal and Caraquet.
