Born Barbara Lee Redfield, Barbara Payton became one of the rising stars of American cinema. In the 50s, she turns with Gary Cooper, Ruth Roman, Frank Sinatra and many others. She faces problems with alcohol and drugs that put an end to her career and marriage. Prostitution will be a further step on the path of his decline. She died in 1967, at the age of 39, three years after writing this autobiographical account.
