Caroline Magerl was born in Germany and arrived in Australia at the age of two. She lived on the sailboat her family built until she was fourteen. In 2001, Caroline won the Children’s Book Council of Australia Crichton Award for her picture book Grandma’s Shoes. She has received a May Gibbs Scholarship and an ASA Scholarship. Today, she is a full-time artist, illustrator, and printmaker. With D’eux, she has published Maya & Mine, Des doigts pour un piano, and NOP.
