Born in 1981, Matthieu Luzak spent his youth in the working class neighborhood of La Source in Orleans, where he played soccer, did graffiti and shoplifted. During an unfinished doctorate, he abandoned sociology for the novels of Donald Goines or Edward Bunker. After becoming a journalist, he travelled all over France before settling in Aubervilliers. Poudre blanche, sable d’or, is his first novel.
