Ariane Lessard was born in 1990 in Lévis, not far from a monastery of cloistered sisters. She published her first novel Feue à la Mèche in 2018, which was a finalist at the Rendez-vous du premier roman. In 2019, she co-edited Zodiaque, a collective of women authors on astrology published at La Mèche Editions. The same year, she participated in the collective Stalkeuses published by Québec Amérique, and also published texts in the magazines Zinc and Lettres québécoises. She explores photography, costume and short texts through Instagram and her Lietteville zines. École pour filles is her second novel. She is currently working on a book that will combine narrative, photographic archives and drawings.
