Jacques Goldstyn was born in 1958 in Saint-Eugène d’Argentenay where his paternal grandfather was a fur inspector. He graduated from the Université de Montréal in geology and worked in Gaspésie, Abitibi and then Alberta in petroleum geology. In 1981, he illustrated his first book: Le petit débrouillard, a collection of experiences in which the characters he created, the “Débrouillards” (resourceful) band, evolve. For the past few years, Jacques Goldstyn has been publishing books at La Pastèque Editions which, with each publication, add an important part to the work of this invaluable author.
