Stéfanie Clermont was born in Ottawa in 1988. In 2017, she published Le jeu de la musique in Le Quartanier, winner of the 2018 Ringuet Award, the 2018 Adrienne-Choquette Award and the 2017 Œuvre de la relève à Montréal Award from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. She lives in Montreal.
