“I’ve always been afraid of my father. I knew he’d already killed in the Algerian war. I was sure he could do it again.”

Thierry grows up in Jim’s icy shadow, developing escape scenarios and barricading himself every night in his room. A few years after the death of this threatening father, with the help of photographs and his notebooks where Jim only talks about the war, the son decides to go in search of the ghost, to find through words the one who had been a young boy who had been taught to be a killer.
Because to avoid passing on the legacy of violence, you have to know the source of it.
