Rosanie, who has remained mute following a trauma of which she has no memory, has been living sheltered from the world for twenty years, locked up in her own muffled universe, protected by her savior who has become her husband. One day, attracted by the city’s thermal baths—although she fears the water—she meets Felice, an athletic and strong-willed woman, broken by a tragic accident. Fascinated by her strength of character, Rosanie decides to break down the wall of silence behind which she has been hiding for so long.

The author

Marjorie Tixier is an associate professor of modern literature and also writes poetry. She draws her inspiration from music, painting and travel. After Un matin ordinaire published in 2020 by Fleuve Editions and by Pocket in 2021, Un autre bleu que le tien is her second novel.

Strong points

Three portraits of unforgettable women—Rosanie, Félice, Estelle—who, despite the ordeals that have forced them into solitude, will together find their truth, and a new life.

Through her intimate portrayal of feelings and emotions, Marjorie Tixier confirms her ability to penetrate the human soul in its most secret depths.

A story carried by a poetic breath, a bewitching writing, a very personal style that marks the reader for a long time.

A first novel, Un matin ordinaire, noticed by booksellers and readers, which was notably part of the first selection of the Prix des Maisons de la Presse (to be published by Pocket in April 2021).
