The first is a journalist without passion who works for a second-rate media. Rotten married life. A daughter born from a one-night stand. Zero prospects. A good joint with breakfast to forget that the days do not announce anything new. The second one just got out of jail. Shenanigans and enough connections to make his mark in the city. Coke to brighten up the daily life, just what is needed. They leave for a few days with friends in Malaga, just to decompress. The setting is not the best, but at least they can talk between men. And in Malaga, a few years ago, Farid has set up quite a business. Of those which succeed and which are not told too much. Of those that journalists do not cover and yet which speak volumes.

In this first novel, Matthieu Luzak offers to accompany us in their journey of guys who tell a society without future and resolutely contemporary. In the manner of raw rap lyrics, he delivers the dreams and dramas of the disillusioned of the 21st century.

The author

Born in 1981, Matthieu Luzak spent his youth in the working class neighborhood of La Source in Orleans, where he played soccer, did graffiti and shoplifted. During an unfinished doctorate, he abandoned sociological readings for the novels of Donald Goines or Edward Bunker. After becoming a journalist, he travelled all over France before settling in Aubervilliers. With Poudre blanche, sable d’or, he wrote his first novel.

Strong points

A first novel that makes visible the downtrodden of our society, those who live from small traffic and navigate in illegality.

A raw, modern and authentic literary voice.

A novel between the universe of a Las Vegas Parano and the American white trash literature.
