“A chef without ideals enjoys no prestige. A chef who allows himself to be overwhelmed by reality, of no confidence.”

The legendary yakuza, masters of Japanese organized crime, are structured around three major families to orchestrate criminal life in the land of the rising sun. Among the leaders of the Inagawakaï clan, Masatoshi Kumagaï brings about a new order. After a meteoric rise, this Japanese will become the youngest of the yakuza chiefs, opening the activities of his clan to international trafficking, appearing face to face in the media, approaching his activity as a formidable businessman and going as far as climbing the steps of Cannes to promote a documentary dedicated to him…

In this book, based on a series of interviews with Kumagaï, we discover this intriguing yakuza master. Page after page, he reveals his career, the backstage of a world far from fantasies and his philosophy between modernity and tradition, profit and code of honor.
