Jan Kosta has always had the same nightmare, from which he emerges out of breath. Carried away by a gigantic torrent of mud, as he tries to surface to breathe, the mud begins to fill his nose, ears and mouth. Just as he feels suffocated, he wakes up in a rage.
When the story begins, Jan Kosta, who now lives in Dubai, receives an alarmed phone call from Vladimir, a colleague and friend who is a hydraulic engineer. Strange things are happening in the newly built power station downstream from the lake where the village of his childhood sleeps. People have unpredictable behaviour, incomprehensible outbursts of violence. A drama is about to happen again, and only Jan will have the strength of conviction to stop it all.

The author

Born in 1967 to a French father and a Serbian mother, Sonja Delzongle grew up between Dijon and Serbia. She led a bohemian life, between various jobs (the most striking being Afro-Asian handicraft trade and running a night bar) and writing. Today she divides her life between Lyon and the Drôme.

Infos

A novel where terror gradually takes hold, all in tension, along the lines of Boréal.

For Sonja, a very successful first foray into the Serbian Balkans, the country of her maternal origins.
