Since the beginnings of photography, amateurs have dedicated themselves to pornography. A true museum of the libertine escapades of our society, the collection first built up by Pierre Louÿs was enriched by the actor Michel Simon, who made no secret of his tastes and appetites in the matter. Two years after the death of this legend of French cinema, no less than thirteen thousand pieces that belonged to the actor were dispersed by his heirs. Pictures but also original editions of Sade, famous dildos, “enterprising” automatons compose what constitutes the most important collection in the world on the subject. Not content to simply collect, Michel Simon wanted to enrich his heritage with memories of his extraordinary sexuality.
