the authors

Jean-Paul Eid has been working in the field of graphic novels since 1985. A contributor to Croc magazine, he created the character Jérôme Bigras. Pages to be read by transparency, pierced albums, interactive scenarios: his work stands out through inventive play on the very language of comics. A jack-of-all-trades, he explores science fiction, historical narrative, and the intimate. His most recent album, Le petit astronaute, was acclaimed by critics and the public, and crowned with several prizes, including the Prix des Libraires.

Author and director, Claude Paiement has led Théâtre Harpagon since 1990. His plays have been performed internationally. He also founded L’Atelier, a space dedicated to theatrical practice. In graphic novels, he co-created with Jean-Paul Eid Memoria and La femme aux cartes postales, two award-winning works.

Note

A powerful graphic novel about power, memory, and silence. Driven by strong dramatic tension, this book follows in the lineage of works that give voice to the unspoken. Through the journey of a celebrated filmmaker, it explores the mechanics of impunity and the cost of silence, in direct echo to the reflections raised by the #MeToo movement.

After Memoria and La femme aux cartes postales, Jean-Paul Eid and Claude Paiement deliver a new landmark work. Their mastery of graphic narrative, their sense of rhythm and staging give this graphic novel a scope that is both intimate and universal. Their return as a duo promises a book as strong in substance as it is remarkable in form.
