Four years after the events of The Only Child, Ha-yeong is still living with her father and Seon-gyeong—who was not poisoned at the end of the first part, even if there is some doubt about Ha-yeong’s intentions.
Seon-gyeong’s husband precipitates the move of the whole family to Sokcho, a small town by the sea. For Ha-yeong, it is the discovery of a new school. Recently, one of the students died and a gang of stalkers may be involved in the disappearance. Ha-yeong has to face them—and her own demons.
But as the novel progresses, a shadow grows until it covers the whole story.
