Halfway between Kill Bill and Bridget Jones, Mauvaise graine is a whimsical and hectic novel to savour without catching your breath.
The first surprise is this baby in her belly, mysteriously arrived there and yet she knows that a child doesn’t make itself. The second surprise, even bigger, is that this pregnancy develops strange faculties in her. This tendency to be a little “sensitive” may be due to hormones. But her highly-developed hearing, her increasing speed and endurance… No doubt, she is becoming a super-woman! It’s a good thing she’s going to have to investigate who put this baby there, what’s happening to her and that her adventures are not going to be easy.
