“The Inuits are a nomadic hunting people who have lived in the Arctic for a thousand years. Until very recently, their only resources for survival were the animals they hunted, the stones left loose by the frozen earth, and the plants and berries growing in the midnight sun. They share their immense territory with many more or less migratory animals, but also with spirits and the elements.
Water in all its forms is their constant universe, the wind enters their ears and springs from their throats in raucous breaths. For all occasions, they have songs, sometimes accompanied by the beating of shamanic drums.”
In this world of confines, one night, a fracture in the sea ice separates a young Inuit woman from her family. Uqsuralik is left to fend for herself in the polar darkness and cold. She has no other way to survive but to move forward, to find a refuge. Thus begins for her, in extreme conditions, the path of a quest that, beyond the vastness of Arctic space, will also reveal her inner world.
