An ill-mannered story.

It is the mid-1980s. Little Melanie stands up to the misery, cruelty and injustice that reign in her Little Burgundy neighbourhood. With her messy hair and grape juice moustache, she puts on her cheeky and hilarious repartee.
When she and her family move to the South Shore, Mélanie quickly realizes that her backstreet ways don’t fit in with the suburban lifestyle. In her new environment, the skinny child accumulates funny situations; bitter aftertastes of her poverty. The road to fulfillment is long.

With Burgundy, Mélanie Michaud signs a work that is both funny and brutal, allowing us to plunge with delight into the era of Grocery Steinberg, school pictures with futuristic backgrounds, Chef Boyardee and Fraisinette cereals.
