From the Yellow Vests Protests to the war in Ukraine, a journey through France and the world alongside Florence Aubenas.

In her preface to En France (L’Olivier, 2014), Florence Aubenas wrote, “We think we know this place we call home. In reality, it is in this familiar landscape that the mystery begins.” Eight years have passed since the publication of that book, which remains a unique portrait of the country. In those eight years, this exceptional journalist has not stopped traveling the world each time bringing back a story. From the Yellow Vest protests to daily life in Kiev under the bombs, via deaths in nursing homes, the incredible “wild woman” of the Cevennes, the inexorable rise of the RN in the regions, a trip to Thailand for a group of young people from Nanterre and La Courneuve, and the tragic end of a farmer, with an unwavering commitment to stick to the facts and render the word of the Other with accuracy Florence Aubenas guides us here and elsewhere.

Once again, Florence Aubenas manages to keep us on the edge of our seats in a quest for moments of truth in which humanity appears in his nakedness.
