What remains of those who have gone? Through the story of a cup once made by a deceased uncle and kept by her ever since, this book delicately addresses the question of mourning. Beautifully illustrated by Qin Leng, evocations of the cup mingle with childhood memories, subtly highlighting the enduring bond, despite loss and the passage of years.

the authors

Catherine Trudeau has always loved telling stories. With the words of others as an actress, and with her own as an author. She loves notebooks, pretty words and stolen moments she wants to keep a trace of, and believes in the formidable power of writing to keep them alive. That’s why she writes first and foremost for the little girl she still is. After studying literature, she graduated from the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal. Since then, she has appeared regularly in theater and film. On the small screen, she has been part of the cast of several series. On the radio, she contributes to the programs Pas tous en même temps and Plus on est de fous plus on lit, where she is in charge of the children’s literature segment.

Qin Leng is a Chinese-born author and illustrator. She spent her childhood in France, then in Montreal, and now lives with her family in Toronto. She concentrates mainly on children’s illustration. She illustrated the album Trèfle, winner of the Governor General’s Award 2022.
