Paris, 1941. Émile and Lazare are two friends lucky enough to have the Palais Garnier as their playground. Émile admires Lazare, the son of the Opera’s concierge, who has only one dream: to emerge from obscurity and become a star dancer. Together, they believe they are invulnerable, but in a city occupied by German troops, it’s another kind of star that threatens Émile.

Paris, 2022. Anna is the daughter of Pâris Besson, the famous prima ballerina and ballet master of the Opéra. She is also the granddaughter of the facetious Lazare Besson, the no less famous concierge of the Palais Garnier, friend of artists and ministers alike. Since her cousin Abel’s suicide, everything has changed for Anna. She no longer wants to be an extra, and wants to play the leading role of her life, even if it means upsetting the fragile balance of her clan.
