1992, on the muddy banks of the Mississippi. Adrien is a young French photographer, working as a taxi in the small town of La Crosse, taking pictures of his clients and of the american landscapes. One of these shots gets noticed by a posh photographic center in Rockport, Maine, where he’s quickly hired as a development technician. That’s where he meets Gloria, the head of the gallery, who is discreetly pocketing originals of great value, and Travis, a would-be war photographer, with whom Adrien does some small-scale stolen art trafficking. One day, this unlikely trio gets involved in a theft too big for them...

Strong points

A tribute to the disappearing world of film photography.

A coming-of-age novel as well as an ode to freedom and to the American great outdoors.
