A first novel of an irresistible burlesque about the workers’ utopias of the 1970s, a gallery of astonishing and magnificent characters...

When Nicolas Dédacin Amoraus leaves school early, dismissed by the headmaster, his father congratulates him: now he is a man worthy to inherit the heavy and noble family toolbox... And the young hero to launch himself into life, proudly taking with him this cradle, this “coffin”, as the workers say, filled with “nails” and various utensils. Not just anywhere: somewhere in the Normandy countryside of the 1970s, where a few utopias flourished at the time, such as “alternative” work... What an incredible opportunity for young Nicolas, who is going to complete his apprenticeship with competent elders, good guys who are fed with real work, with experienced hands!
