The novel goes to the heart of the worst scandals in Korean society. It is particularly inspired by the Park Geun Hye case. This former president of the Republic of Korea, deposed in 2017, currently in prison, led the country under the toxic influence of a shaman. The latter served her own interests and those of various large industrial groups.
Welcome to the secret office of Nam Hanjun, aka Beau Gosse, pseudo-shaman and genuine con man. With his two accomplices, Hyejun, his genius hacker little sister and Sucheol, aka Mammoth, a private detective, they offer their rich clientele tailor-made “divinations” that make them successful.
One evening, a client calls them after thinking she sees a ghost in her kitchen. When they arrive, their presence attracts the attention of a neighbour who alerts the police. A young inspector goes to the scene, Ye-eun, a martial arts expert, whom her colleagues call the ghost because she is so quick and discreet. In the basement of the house, she discovers the corpse of a teenage girl who has been wanted for a month.
