An intense and poetic sea crossing led by a teenage character who is as fiery as he is sensitive.

A poetic novel about autism, about the need to find one’s place and express one’s essence in a world where everything is different.

Chouia feels very small, a tiny thing in a world where everything seems immense to him. He carries this feeling of infinite emptiness, a desert all to himself, a minimal brain in which he takes refuge. Then one day, in a new house, with new friends, who are all different in their own way, life becomes lighter, light floods in from everywhere and gives free rein to the freedom to be.

the authors

Franck Fenestre likes to explore the artistic and literary margins where he explores his own sense of wonder. For him, exploring his own sense of wonder means having retained from childhood the ability to recreate everything through play, against all reason. This heightened creativity is embraced by artists who are considered eccentric or unconventional, but whose perspectives are, unbeknownst to us, our windows to the world.

Inspired by her observations of natural, poetic, and vibrant life, Alexandra Dion-Fortin explores the colors and grays of the world around her. Watercolors, graphite, and colored pencils are her tools of choice. She devotes herself to artistic projects between the waters and mountains east of the St. Lawrence River.
