To outplay desire.

A woman was an involuntary single from 2010 to 2020. Nothing had prepared her for this endless, humiliating tunnel of wandering, vertigo, and solitude.
All that time spent searching for a possible crystallization, playing the game of romantic hope, Claire Legendre examines desire from every angle—desire without object, sexual desire, the desire to please, to possess, to be possessed, which often converge in the absence and the anticipation of love. It is a faithful companion, sturdy, affable, and courageous. Desire runs up daily against the feeling of having been left standing at the roadside, watching others build their lives, and it deepens the need to be loved by someone.

Written as an autobiographical essay, Ce désire me point becomes a critique of the vast metaworld in which love is narrated today. The writing, candid and reflective, accompanies this solitary crossing and makes it possible to populate the void, to bring life into being.
